18/52 A2FO series 70 | About this product
5 About this product
51 Performance description
The axial piston fixed pump generates ahydraulic fluid flow. It is designed for mobile
and stationary applications.
Refer to datasheet 91405 and the order confirmation for the technical data,
operating conditions and operating limits of the axial piston unit.
52 Product description
The A2FO is afixed pump with axial tapered piston rotary group in bent-axis
design for hydrostatic drives in open circuits. Flow is proportional to drive speed
and displacement. For axial piston units with bent-axis design, the pistons(2) are
arranged at an angle to the drive shaft(1).
In an open circuit, the hydraulic fluid flows from the reservoir to the hydraulic pump
from where it is fed to the consumer, for example, hydraulic motor. From the
consumer, the hydraulic fluid flows directly back to the reservoir.

522 Functional description
Torque and arotational speed are applied to the drive shaft(1) by an drive motor.
By way of the drive shaft and the pistons(2), cylinder(3) is set in rotation.
The cylinder then glides on the control plate(6). With every revolution, the pistons
execute one stroke in the cylinder bores. During arotation, each piston moves over
the bottom and top dead centers back to its initial position. Here, hydraulic fluid is
fed into and out through two control slots in the control plateaccording to the
displacement. Hydraulic fluid flows into the piston chamber as the piston recedes on
the suction side(5). At the same time, on the pressure side(4) the hydraulic fluid is
pushed out of the cylinder chamber into the hydraulic system by the pistons.
