9. FAN BELT
Carry out inspection or maintenance after
the engine if fully cooled down.
WARNING
After removing right side of dashboard, loosen xing nut
and adjust stopper bolt so that the gap between stopper
bolt head and brake pedal arm is 0 ~ 0.02in [0~0.5mm]
and tighten the xing nut again.
Open the engine hood and press the middle of fan belt
with nger to see if the belt sags about 0.4 ~ 0.6in [10
~15mm]or if there is any damage to the belt. If the sag-
ging is not correct, loosen the alternator bolt and move
the alternator to adjust the tension of the fan belt. If the
fan belt still slips after the alternator is moved to the max-
imum, replace the belt with a new one. New belts must
be inspected after 50 hours of use.
