Octave Filter
Set
1613
Weighting
Potentiometers
-163720
With
the
WEIGHTING SWITCH
in
position
"On"
the
output
level
of
each filter can be adjusted with a screwdriver through small holes
in
the
front
panel of
the
filter set.
It
is
thus
possible
to
obtain
filter characteristics
to
match individual noise limit requirements set
for
particular measure-
ments. An
example
is
shown in Fig.6.12.
The
linear range can also be
attenuated
by up
to
50
dB.
For adjustment
of
the
1613
filters'
attenuation,
the
filter should be fed
from a
signal source having an impedance
of
not
more
than
25
n and
the
load impedance should be
146
.Q
in
parallel with
40-
60
pF. These con-
ditions are
automatically fulfilled when
the
Filter
Set
is
used with either
the
2203
or
the
2209.
The
maximum input voltage
that
can be applied
to
the
filters
without
noticeable distortion
is
approximately 1 Volt (Types
2203
and
2209
only supply
0.3
and
0.2
V respectively for full scale deflection).
The electrical connection between
the
Filter
Set
and
Sound
Level Meter
is
provided by a connection bar which
is
also separately available
under
accessory number JP 0400.
The
functions
of
sockets and
controls
of
1613
are described below. Refer
to
Fig.6.1 0 for clarification.
