8 Troubleshooting
This section helps to resume operation after a problem has occurred with the instrument which does
not necessarily require special technical training. It lists possible occurrences, their probable causes
and suggests how to remedy the problem.
The troubleshooting table below lists possible malfunctions and errors of the instrument. The operator
is enabled to correct some of those problems or errors by him/herself. For this, appropriate corrective
measures are listed in the column “Remedy”.

Malfunctions or errors which are not listed in the table are to be corrected by a Buchi trained technical
engineer who has access to the official service manuals or a trained system administrator. In case
external service is required, please refer to your local Buchi customer service agent.
8.2 Enhanced system diagnose (NADIA)
Additional tests to the SST can be run via the NIRWare Automatic Diagnose (Nadia) tool. “Nadia”
can be used to verify the condition of the NIRMaster e.g. during service for an enhanced performance
check of the instrument.
To run “Nadia” proceed as follows:
• Close the NIRWare Operator and all other running NIRWare applications
• Start the diagnose window of the test program press
➥“ Start” ➡ “Programs” ➡ “Buchi NIRSolutions” ➡ “NIRWare” ➡ “Nadia”
NOTE
NADIA will prompt you for permission to stop the Control System Service, if it detects a running
Control System Service. In this case, close all running NIRWare applications (e.g. NIRWare Operator).
To run the system diagnose press the “Start” button in the lower left corner of the program window. To
exit the program, select “Exit” in the lower right corner.
