2 Introduction

2.1 Intended use
The DIGIFORCE
®
9311 is an instrument that is designed to monitor repetitive production processes. Its
core function is to record and analyze process signals representing physical variables between which
there is a defined relationship, for instance recording a curve of force, pressure or torque plotted against
displacement, angle or time. Graphical evaluation elements such as windows, trapezoids, thresholds or
envelopes are used to analyze the resultant curve. The analysis result is classified as "OK" or "NOK" (Not
OK) and output at various interfaces.
The DIGIFORCE
®
9311 is NOT intended as a safety device. For instance it is not suitable as an
emergency device for shutting down a press if the pressing force exceeds a threshold value.
