10 Malfunctions and repair
10.1 Definitions
10.1.1 Malfunction
A malfunction is an improper system status and most be fixed as quickly as possible. The system operator
must ensure that malfunctions are fixed.
10.1.2 Repair
Repair means restoring the system to its target state. The system operator must ensure that malfunctions are
fixed or they system is repaired.
10.2 Objective
The objective of this chapter is to instruct responsible qualified personnel in diagnosing malfunctions and
restoring the target state.
The system operator should first be notified of an improper system status with error notifications.
The responsible system operator must ensure that the target state of the system is restored as quickly as
possible. The operator must:
have the cause of the malfunction determined and evaluated
have the malfunctions fixed by competent personnel.
In the case of electrically operated doors, heed the attached function description for the control system.
10.3 Malfunctions and corrective actions (sliding door)
The following malfunctions can be fixed by trained operating personnel:

Obstacles
Possible malfunctions for sliding doors and the corrective actions are:
In all cases, notify the service personnel
(see the emergency operation chapter)
Yes: remove an obstacle, if applicable
No: notify authorised service personnel
