Application and Driving
NOTICE
The tire pressure monitoring system can identify tires with low tire pressure.
When the vehicle give off alarm indicating insufficient tire pressure of one or
more tires, the driver should check the tire or tires with alarm and tire inflation
pressure and also check those without alarm.
The tire monitoring system may give alarm in any of the following conditions
■ The tire pressure is manually changed.
■ The inflation pressure of one or more tires is too low.
■ Any tire has structure damage.
■ One wheel on each of the front and rear axles is replaced.
■ The tire pressure monitoring system has not been reset after any tire was
replaced or the tire pressure was changed.
■ The load on one side of the vehicle is heavy.
■ When the wheel load on an axle is heavy (e.g. full load).
■ Antiskid chains are installed.
■ A spare wheel is installed.
NOTICE
Driving the vehicle on dirt road, gravel road, winding mountain road, icy or
snowy road or in SPORT mode may cause instructions from the tire pressure
monitoring system to be partially or completely closed for a short time. Driving
the vehicle in these conditions for a long time will cause alarm time of the tire
pressure monitoring system to be prolonged.
System Failure
When the signal used for the tire pressure monitoring system is not received or
invalid, the indicator on the instrument will flash for 60s and then stay on, with
the message "Check the tire pressure monitoring system" displayed and the buzzer
sounding once. This indicates that the vehicle loses the tire pressure monitoring
function. In this case, the driver should immediately drive to a BYD authorized
service provider for troubleshooting.
Warm tip
When the ESP becomes faulty, the tire pressure monitoring system display
may also lose its function.
System malfunction may occur after antiskid chains are installed.
