6-1 Instructions for M aintenance
Period and Contents of Maintenance
Vehicle maintenance schedule
■ The maintenance schedule is prepared to ensure the driving stability,
reduce troubles and provide a safe and economical driving experience to
the user.
■ Refer to the maintenance schedule for intervals of planned maintenance
which depends on the readings on the odometer or time intervals,
whichever comes first.
■ Once done at the time after the required time interval, any maintenance
item should also be done at the same time interval next time.
■ Have rubber hoses (for the cooling/heating system and the brake
system) checked by a professional technician as per the maintenance
schedule.
■ All maintenance items listed are very important. The maintenance
interval of each item is given in the maintenance schedule. Replace a
hose immediately once it is degraded or damaged.
■ All maintenance items necessary for keeping your vehicle always in the
best operating state are listed in the regular maintenance schedule.
Maintenance schedule requirements
The vehicle must be maintained normally in accordance with the maintenance
schedule.
If the vehicle is operated under one or more of the following special
conditions, some maintenance items should be done more frequently.
■ Road conditions
When driving on a bumpy/muddy road or a road covered by
melting snow
When driving on a dusty road.
■ Driving conditions
When the vehicle is towed or trailed, or when a camping trailer or
top bracket is used.
When the vehicle is driven repeatedly within a short distance of 8
km and when the outside temperature is below zero.
When the vehicle keeps idling for a long time and/or is driven for a
long distance at low speed, such as a police car, taxi or goods van.
