■ It is not allowed to try to test the predictive emergency braking system with
cardboard boxes, iron plates and dummies, etc. The system may not work
properly, which may lead to accidents.
Traffic Sign Recognition System
The traffic sign recognition system (if any) identifies speed limit signs on road
through the camera sensor, and the speed limit indicator on the instrument will
illuminate to remind the driver to control the vehicle speed within a reasonable
range.
Operation method
■ You can enter relevant setting interfaces through the multimedia touch screen.
■ In the "Traffic Sign" interface, select "ON" or "OFF" for the traffic sign
recognition function.
● The system memorizes the ON/OFF state of the previous startup state by
default.
■ The system can recognize signs about speed limit on the vehicle's travel path,
and the instrument will correspondingly display recognized speed limit indicator
(e.g. ). When the vehicle speed displayed on the instrument is higher than
the recognized speed limit of 5km/h or more, the speed limit indicator on the
instrument will flash to remind the user not to drive beyond the posted speed.
When the system recognizes a speed limit lifted sign or that the vehicle has
traveled a certain distance, the speed limit indicator will go out.
Precautions for Traffic Sign Recognition System
■ The speed limit indicator on the instrument will go out after the vehicle has
traveled a certain distance since recognition by the system. Therefore, the
driver should take care to control the vehicle speed within a reasonable range.
■ The traffic sign recognition system can only recognize speed limit signs and
does not participate in active control of the vehicle. The control of the vehicle is
always in the hands of the driver. Therefore, please drive reasonably.
■ When multiple speed limit signs appear on side-by-side lanes, the system will
recognize the speed limit sign of the current lane for the display of the speed
limit indicator, and the driver must ensure that the vehicle is running in the
correct lane.
■ The performance of the traffic sign recognition system is affected by weather,
illumination level and visual quality of road markings. At night or sunset, in
shadowed area, on rainy, foggy or hazy days, in snow and ice covered or dust
affected area, or when brightness changes suddenly, the recognition ability
may be reduced to the extent that speed limit signs cannot be recognized.
■ When the vehicle has suffered collision accident or the camera sensor is
reinstalled, it is recommended to contact a BYD authorized service provider to
calibrate the sensor to avoid affecting the system performance.
■ If a weight limit sign is not standardized and does not meet the size
requirements specified by the state, it may be mistakenly recognized as a
speed limit sign, resulting in mistaken recognition.
