38 1-4 Anti-theft System
This vehicle is equipped with a vehicle event data recorder (EDR). It
is used to record the key data of vehicle operation before, during and
after the collision. The detailed data are as follows:
Change in longitudinal velocity of
vehicle The longitudinal delta-V is
only the longitudinal component
of the total delta-V.
Analyze the velocity
change in the vehicle
forward direction and
at adjacent time points
before and after the
collision.
Maximum
longitudinal
delta-V
recorded
Maximum value of cumulative
change in the vehicle velocity
along X-axis direction recorded
by EDR The data should be used
in combination with "Time for
reaching the maximum
longitudinal delta-V recorded".
Analyze the maximum
change in the vehicle
velocity before and
after the collision.
Time for
reaching the
maximum
longitudinal
delta-V
recorded
Time, recorded by EDR, from
zero to the point when the
maximum value of cumulative
change in velocity is reached
along the X-axis direction The
data should be used in
combination with "Maximum
longitudinal delta-V recorded".
Analyze the time
corresponding to the
maximum change in
vehicle velocity in the
forward direction when
the collision occurs.
Used to detect whether the brake
pedal is depressed by the driver
Analyze whether the
brake pedal is
depressed by the
driver during collision.
In-wheel speed or vehicle speed
obtained by other means
Analyze the vehicle
running speed during
collision.
Vehicle
identification
number (VIN)
Vehicle identification number
(VIN) specified by the vehicle
manufacturer
Confirm whether the
data recorded by EDR
corresponds to the
vehicle that suffers
from the collision.
Notes: If the EDR recorded the longitudinal acceleration, it may not
be necessary to record longitudinal delta-V, maximum longitudinal
delta-V or time for reaching the maximum longitudinal delta-V.
