Charging system warning light
Illumination of the warning light during driving indicates a failure of the
charging system. In this case, turn off the A/C, fans, etc. and contact
a BYD authorized service provider for repair.
Steering system fault warning light
■ If the steering system becomes faulty, this warning light will stay
on. In this case, contact a BYD authorized service provider for
inspection.
The motor can reduce the force required for turning the steering
wheel.
When turning the steering wheel, you may hear the motor
humming when it is working. This is not a sign of a failure.
Do not maintain the steering wheel in a limit position for more
than 5s; otherwise the temperature protection will be activated,
thus causing heavy steering or damages.
■ When the steering wheel is turned frequently in place, if the
steering system fault warning light does not illuminate but
steering feels heavy, it is not a fault.
If the steering wheel is turned frequently in place for a long
time, the steering system boosting effect will decrease to
prevent over temperature of the system, resulting in heavy
steering when operating the steering wheel. In this case, stop
frequently turning the steering wheel or starting the vehicle;
the system will return to normal in 10 min.
If the steering system fault warning light illuminates, park the
vehicle where it is safe to do so immediately and contact a BYD
authorized service provider.
Powertrain fault warning light
■ If the powertrain fails, this warning light will illuminate.
