After completing the settings, click [OK].

When the message <The device has been reset.> appears,
click [OK].
After completing the reset, the settings are enabled.
The protocol settings for the printer are now completed.
Protocol Settings Using FTP Client

Run Command Prompt or MS-DOS Prompt.
For Windows XP/Server 2003: From the [Start] menu, select [All Programs] ➞
[Accessories] ➞ [Command Prompt].
For Windows 2000: From the [Start] menu, select [Programs] ➞ [Accessories] ➞
[Command Prompt].
For Windows Me: From the [Start] menu, select [Programs] ➞ [Accessories] ➞
[MS-DOS Prompt].
For Windows 98: From the [Start] menu, select [Programs] ➞ [MS-DOS Prompt].

Enter the following command, then press the [ENTER] key on
your keyboard.
ftp <the IP address of the printer>
NOTE
If you are not sure about the IP address of this printer, refer to the Network Status
Print printed in "Checking the Operations with Network Status Print" (p. 2-57) or
ask an administrator of the printer.

Enter "root" as the user name, then press the [ENTER] key on
your keyboard.
● If the password is specified for the printer
❑ Enter the password.
● If the password is not specified for the printer
❑ Do not enter the password, but press the [ENTER] key on your keyboard.
