7.7 Cleaning and Replacement
7.7.1 Air Cleaner Element
● Dirty air cleaner element will reduce engine performance and life. Clean
every
100 hours of
operation.
● Handle the air cleaner element taking care not to break or deform
it.

Cleaning
1. Open the engine cover, and lock it firmly with the
stay-bar.
(See page 15)
2. Remove the air cleaner element.
3. Hit the air cleaner element lightly to remove the dust,
or blow the element with compressed air while rotat-
ing it.
● If the air cleaner element is contaminated with carbon and oil, immerse it
in
water with solvent for about 30 minutes, and then wash it clean, rinse it
with
fresh water, and let it dry in the
air.
● Replace the element every year or every 600
hours.
● If the element is damaged, replace
it.
