2.3 — Troubleshooting Procedure
Follow recognized safety practices and wear protective
goggles.
Do not operate compressor or provide electric power to
this unit unless the compressor terminal box cover is in
place and secured.
Do not provide power to unit or turn on compressor unless
suction and discharge service valves are open. When not
operating keep at least one service valve open unless
replacing the compressor.
Do not remove the compressor terminal box cover until all
electrical sources have been disconnected.
DANGER
Before attempting service work on the compressor, the fol-
lowing safety precautions must be strictly observed. Failure
to follow these instructions could result in serious personal
injury or death. See warning label.
DANGER
When leak-testing semi-hermetic compressors, check
around the terminal box cover. Test around the wire entry
point(s) of the cover because refrigerant is likely to concen-
trate there. Do not remove the terminal cover to perform
this leak testing because bodily injury or death can
result from fire and/or explosion if cover is removed or
unsecured before power is disconnected and pressure is
relieved. Electrical terminal pins may blow out, causing
injury and fire.
