What to do if starter motor cranks but Carrier Refrigerator fails to start?
- KKathryn LeeAug 4, 2025
If the starter motor of your Carrier Refrigerator cranks but the engine won't start, several issues could be at play. First, ensure the fuel tank isn't empty by refueling it. Air or water in the fuel system can also prevent starting, so bleed the fuel system to remove air and drain any water present. Check for and replace plugged fuel filters and clear or replace any plugged fuel lines. Other potential causes include erratic fuel control operation (check and repair), defective glow plug(s) (replace them), a defective run solenoid (inspect and replace if necessary), or a malfunctioning fuel pump (test, repair, or replace).
