3.3.1.1 USB port
The USB port on the CONTROL board is dedicated to the firmware update of the C1 unit. Do not use it for any other purpose. For
more information on unit firmware update, please refer to the corresponding section of this manual.
3.3.1.2 Ethernet port
The Ethernet port on the CONTROL board is dedicated to network based control of the unit. This functionality is currently not
implemented, thus leave the Ethernet port unconnected. A future C1 firmware release will provide this functionality.
3.3.2 NETWORK board
The optional NETWORK board can replace the default CONTROL board. It provides all the features of the CONTROL board (firmware
update USB port, control through RJ45 Ethernet port). But its main feature is to convert the C1 into a network streamer when
connected to a music server through a LAN. Following drawing shows the layout of the back panel of the NETWORK board:

3.3.2.1 USB port

3.3.2.2 Ethernet port
The Ethernet port on the NETWORK board has two purposes: music streaming and network-based control of the unit.
3.3.3 DIGITAL_IN boards
DIGITAL_IN boards provide digital audio input capabilities. Additional DIGITAL_IN boards (#2 and #3) can be added to the default
factory installed DIGITAL_IN #1 into C1 to add inputs of each type. DIGITAL_OUT boards provide both standard (AES-EBU, Coaxial
and Optical) digital audio inputs and a proprietary (CH Link) high-definition digital audio interface. Following drawing shows the
