To preventpossible SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH from a falling garage door:
• If possible, use emergency release handle to disengage trolley ONLY when garage door is
CLOSED. Weak or broken springs or unbalanced door could resultin an open door falling rapidly
and/or unexpectedly.
• NEVER use emergency release handle unlessgarage doorwayis clear of persons and
obstructions.
• NEVER use handle to pull door open or closed. Ifrope knotbecomes untied, you could fall.
DISCONNECT THE TROLLEY
1 The door should be fully closed if possible.
2 Pull down on the emergency release handle.
RECONNECT THE TROLLEY
The lockoutfeature prevents the trolleyfrom reconnecting automatically.
1 Pull the emergencyrelease handle down and back (toward the
opener). The door can then be raised and lowered manuallyas often
as necessary.
2 To disengage the lockoutfeature,pull the handle straight down. The
trolleywill reconnect on the next UP or DOWN operation, either
manuallyor byusing the door control or remote control.
Maintenance
EVERY MONTH
• Manuallyoperate door. Ifit is unbalanced or binding, call a trained door systems technician. Checkto
be sure door opens and closesfully. Adjustif necessary (refer to Adjustmentsection). Repeat the
safety reverse test.Make any necessary adjustments (refer to Adjustment section).
EVERY YEAR
• Oil door rollers, bearings and hinges.The garage door opener does not require additional
lubrication.Do not grease the door tracks.
EVERY TWO TO THREE YEARS
• Use a rag to wipe awaythe existing grease from the garage door opener rail.Reapply a small layer
of white lithium grease to the top and underside of the rail surface where the trolley slides.
• Testthe batteryand consider replacing the batteryto ensure the garage door opener will operate
during an electrical power outage.
