Unplug oxygen sensor connector from wire harness,
and check the voltage between Pin C
(corresponding to white wire of oxygen sensor) and
Pin D (corresponding to white wire of oxygen
sensor, two thick wires on ECU wire harness) of the
connector with a multimeter to see if it is around
12V.
No Go to Step 4
Yes Go to next step

Check the resistance between Pin C (white) and Pin
D (white) of oxygen sensor with a multimeter to see
if it is around 4.5Ω (23 ± 5°C).
No Replace sensor
Yes Replace fuse

Check the 10A fuse in oxygen sensor heating circuit
to see if it is blown.
No Go to next step

Repair or
replace wire
harness

Check respectively the connections between Pin 28
of ECU and Pin C (corresponding to white wire of
oxygen sensor) of sensor connector, Pin 87 of main
relay and Pin D (corresponding to white wire of
oxygen sensor) of sensor connector to see if open or
short circuit to power/ground occurs.
No

Failure: self-adaptation of air fuel ratio closed-loop control exceeds upper
limit

Connect scanner and commutator, and then turn
ignition switch to “ON”.
Go to next step
Yes Go to next step

Start engine and idle it until coolant temperature is
normal. Observe Oxygen Sensor Voltage on scanner
under all working conditions to see if the value
indication maintains stable around 100mV under
some working conditions for a long time.
No

Connect a fuel pressure gauge to fuel inlet pipe of
fuel system and observe fuel pressure under all
working conditions to see if it is around 350kPa.
No

Check respectively the connections between Pin 20
of ECU and Pin A of sensor connector, Pin 9 of
ECU and Pin B of sensor connector (two thin wires
on ECU wire harness, the two thick wires are
heating coils) to see if they are short circuit to
ground.
No Go to next step
