2. Fault Diagnostic Precaution
ABS is an electronic hydraulic controlled system and below condition is normal when ABS is under normal
operating condition.
Condition Explanation
System self-check sound
After engine on, bumping similar sound may occurs from
engine compartment sometime. It is the sound of ABS
system self-check and is normal.
Sound when ABS operating
1. Sound of motor running in ABS hydraulic unit.
2. Sound of brake pedal viabrating.
3. When ABS operating, creaking sound from suspension
dashing or friction sound between tire and ground。
Note: Tire may also creak when ABS is under normal
operating.
ABS operating, but a long brake distance.
When running on snowy or sandy road, a ABS installed
vehicle braking distance is longer than a vehicle without
ABS sometime. Special care shall be used when driving
on such road surface.
