Precautions on ABS
4 MUST ITEMS
1Depress brake pedal and keep pedal depressed firmly to obtain enough and consecutive braking force for ABS
operating effectively.
2To keep enough braking distance, when driving on a good road surface, at least 3 seconds braking time must be left for
front vehicle and a longer braking time must be left when driving on a bad road surface.
3Practice applying ABS brake beforehand, get familiar with and have adaptability to pedal vibrating while ABS
operating. Both parking lot and square are good places for practicing applying urgent ABS braking.
4Carefully read DRIVER MANUAL for a good understanding of operating items provided by the vehicle manufacturer
who install the ABS system.
4 NOT ITEMS
1DO NOT drive an ABS installed vehicle more careless than a vehicle without ABS. Even for an ABS installed
vehicle, a sharp cornering, fast way-changing way and other sharp steering operations are hazard and not recommended.
2DO NOT depress brake pedal repeatedly. When driving an ABS installed vehicle, depressing pedal repeatedly will
cause ABS intermittent on, which will decrease braking efficiency and increase braking distance. Actually, ABS itself
increases and decreases brake force at a high-speed rate, and offers effective steering wheel control.
3DO NOT forget to turn steering wheel. ABS offers effective steering wheel control ability, but cannot automatically
carry out steering operation itself.
4 DO NOT be afraid of normal ABS hydraulic system operation sound and brake pedal vibrating whiling braking.
Such phenomenon is normal by which driver can feel ABS is operating.
