2. Installation
2.1 Inspection
When unpacking the instrument, inspect any damage that might have occurred during shipping.
Save all packing materials in case the unit has to be returned.
If any damage is found, please file a claim with the carrier immediately. Do not return the
instrument to the factory without prior RMA acceptance from Chroma.
2.2 Preparation for Use
In the beginning, the instrument must be connected with an appropriate AC line input. Then,
since it is intelligently fan-cooled, it must be installed in sufficient space for the circulation of air.
It should be used in an area where the ambient temperature is under +40.
2.3 Requirements of Input Power
2.3.1 Ratings
Input Voltage Range 190 250 Vac, single phase.
Input Frequency 47 63 Hz
Max. Current 6430 : 25A
6420 : 15A
6415 : 12A
Max. power 6430 : 4000 W
6420 : 2700 W
6415 : 2000 W
2.3.2 Input Connection
The input power terminal block is located on the rear panel of the instrument. Please refer to
figure 2-1. Input of the 6430/6420/6415 must be connected from a three-wired single phase AC
power outlet. The current rating of the power line input must be larger than or equal to that of
the fuse of the instrument.
