8. Immediately reinstall the dust plug in the XFP transceiver optical bores. Do not remove the dust plug until
you are ready to attach the network interface cable.
10-Gigabit XFP transceivers are keyed to prevent incorrect insertion.

Removing a 10-Gigabit Ethernet XFP Transceiver Module
The XFP transceiver is a static-sensitive device. Always use an ESD wrist strap or similar individual grounding
device when handling XFP transceivers or coming into contact with modules.
Caution
If you are removing an XFP transceiver, follow these steps:
1. Disconnect the network interface cable from the XFP transceiver connectors. Immediately reinstall the
dust plug in the fiber-optic cable LC connector.
