4 Ribbon Feed Troubleshooting
Problem Cause and remedy
Ribbon does not
wind.
• Wrong ribbon path.
• Ribbon winding direction
is reversed.
• Ribbon holder and winder
tension is not correct.
• Ribbon and media are
not proper.
→ Use correct path. (See Chapter 3)
→ Set it properly. (See Chapter 3)
→ Set it properly. (See Chapter 3)
→ Contact our service personnel.
Ribbon wrinkles. • Ribbon holder and winder
tension is not correct.
• Print density (heating
factor) is not correct.
• Angle of ribbon guide bar
is not correct.
• Printhead pressure
doesn’t match media
width.
• Ribbon and media are
not proper.
→ Set it properly.
→ Correct the parameter of the Hnn
command in the printing contents
definition mode.

adjust the ribbon guide bar.
→ If not, the ribbon may wrinkle.
Adjust printhead pressure with the
adjustment screw.
