Hill start assist
Systemwhichkeepsyourvehicleimmobilised
temporarily(approximately2seconds)when
startingonagradient,thetimeittakesto
moveyourfootfromthebrakepedaltothe
acceleratorpedal.
Thissystemonlyoperateswhen:
- thevehicleiscompletelystationary,with
yourfootonthebrakepedal,
- certainconditionsofslopearemet,
- withthedriver’sdoorclosed.
Thehillstartassistsystemcannotbe
deactivated.
On an ascending slope, with the vehicle
stationary, the vehicle is held for a
momentarily when you release the brake
pedal:
- providedyouareinfirstgearorneutralon
amanualgearbox,
- providedyouareinpositionA or M on an
electronicgearbox,D or Monanautomatic
gearbox.
Operation
On a descending slope, with the vehicle
stationary and reverse gear engaged, the
vehicle is held momentarily when you
release the brake pedal.
Operating fault
Ifafaultinthesystemoccurs,thesewarning
lampscomeon,accompaniedbyanalert
message.ContactaCITROËNdealeror
aqualifiedworkshoptohavethesystem
checked.
Donotexitthevehiclewhileitisbeing
heldinthehillstartassistphase.
Ifyouneedtoexitthevehiclewith
theenginerunning,applytheparking
brakemanuallythenensurethatthe
parkingbrakewarninglamp(andthe
warninglampP in the lever of the
electricparkingbrake)areonfixed(not
flashing).
