Stop & Start
TheStop&Startsystemputstheenginetemporarilyintostandby-STOPmode-duringstopsinthetraffic(redlights,trafficjams,orother...).
Theenginerestartsautomatically-STARTmode-assoonasyouwanttomoveoff.Therestarttakesplaceinstantly,quicklyandsilently.
Operation
Going into engine STOP
mode
The "ECO"warninglampcomesoninthe
instrumentpanelandtheenginegoesinto
standbyautomatically:
- with a manual gearbox,atspeedsbelow
12mph(20km/h),orvehiclestationary
(withe-THP130and165petrolversions
andBlueHDi100,115and120versions),
whenyouplacethegearleverinneutral,
andyoureleasetheclutchpedal,
- with an electronic gearbox,atspeeds
below5mph(8km/h),whenyoupressthe
brakepedalorplacethegearselectorlever
in position N,
- with an automatic gearbox, with the
vehicle stationary, when you press the
brakepedalorplacethegearselectorlever
in position N.
NeverrefuelwiththeengineinSTOP
mode;youmustswitchofftheignition
withtheSTART/STOPbutton.
Foryourcomfort,duringparking
manoeuvres,STOPmodeisnot
availableforafewsecondsafter
comingoutofreversegear.
STOPmodedoesnotaffectthe
functionality of the vehicle, such as for
example,braking,powersteering...
Special cases: STOP mode not
available
STOPmodeisnotinvokedwhen:
- thedriver'sdoorisopen,
- thedriver'sseatbeltisnotfastened,
- thevehiclehasnotexceeded6mph
(10km/h)sincethelastenginestartusing
theSTART/STOPbutton,
- theelectricparkingbrakeisappliedor
beingapplied,
- theengineisneededtomaintaina
comfortabletemperatureinthepassenger
compartment,
- demistingisactive,
- somespecialconditions(batterycharge,
enginetemperature,brakingassistance,
ambienttemperature...)wheretheengineis
neededtoassurecontrolofasystem.
In this case, the "ECO"warninglamp
flashesforafewsecondsthengoes
off.
This operation is perfectly normal.
Perfectforurbanuse,theStop&Startsystemreducesfuelconsumptionandexhaustemissionsaswellasthenoiselevelwhenstationary.
Ifyourvehicleisfittedwiththesystem,atime
countercalculatesthesumoftheperiodsin
STOPmodeduringajourney.Itresetsitselfto
zeroeverytimetheignitionisswitchedonwith
theSTART/STOPbutton.
