transceiver unit The device that modulates audio signals
onto radio frequencies that can be
transmitted on air, and that demodulates the
radio frequencies it receives into audio
signals.
Selective call A call that enables you to contact a specific
station then speak to an operator.
Send Position
call
A call that sends your GPS position to a
specific station.
sideband A band of frequencies that is above or
below a modulated carrier frequency.
station A point of communication consisting of a
transceiver, a battery, an antenna, ancillary
equipment, and appropriate connecting
cables.
transceiver A transceiver unit with speaker, handset,
and battery.
