Instruction
(a)Refuelingoperationsmustonlybedoneinairportapprovedareas.
(b)Arefuelingzoneidenticationmustbesetuparoundanaircraftwhenpreparingforor
duringarefuelingoperation.
(c)Fireprotectionequipment,emergencyrescueequipment,andapprovedreextinguishers
mustbeavailableintherefuelingzone.
(d)Withintherefuelingzone,obeytheserequirements:
1)Obeytheequipmentseparationrequirements.
2)Onlyauthorizedpersonnelandvehiclesarepermitted.
3)Passengersarenotpermitted.
4)Maintenanceoperationsontheaircraftmustbeputonalimittoreducetheriskof
ignitionoffuelvapor.
5)Allelectricalequipmentmustberatedforthehazardouslocationzonewhereitwill
operate.
6)Metalwheelsorstuddedtiresarenotpermitted.
(8)RefuelingPrecautions
(a)Putalmostthesamequantityoffuelintheleftwingtankandtherightwingtank..
(b)Makesurethatthefuelingvehiclepressurizesthefuelsystemforamaximumof55
psi(379.2kPa).
NOTE:
Thepressureoftherefuelnozzleis50psi±5psi(344.734.5).Ifthefuelpressureat
therefueladapterismorethan55psi(379.2),thefuelingvehiclewillautomatically
stoptherefuelingoperation.
(c)Themaximumrefuelingrateoffueltankis1400L/min.
WARNING:MAKESURETHATALLTHEEQUIPMENTBELOWTHEWINGTIPSARERE-
MOVEDDURINGREFUELING,OTHERWISEITCANCAUSEEXPLOSION,
ANDINJURYTOPERSONSANDDAMAGETOEQUIPMENTCANOCCUR.
(d)Makesurethatnogroundequipmentisparkedbelowthewingsduringtherefuelingoper-
ation.
1)Theweightofthefuelcangetwingsabitdownwardduringrefueling.
2)Thewingtipsmovesdownmorethantherestofthewing.
3)Duringrefueling,airexitsthefueltanksthroughthewingtipfuelvents.
4)Thewingtipsmovesdownmorethantherestofthewing.
B.Finalprocedure
(1)Makesurethattheworkareaisclean.Removealltools,equipmentandunwantedmaterials
fromtheworkarea.
