nozzletoopentheshutoffvalve.
(e)Makesurethattherelatedswitchesontherefuel/defuelcontrolpanelaresettothese
positions:

REFUELSELECTIONMANUAL
LHTANKREFUELINGCLOSED
RHTANKREFUELINGCLOSED
DEFUELINGOPEN
(f)CheckthedefuelshutoffvalveOPENannunciatorisilluminated.
(g)SettheXFEEDVALVEpushbuttonontheoverheadFUELcontrolpanelofthecockpitto
theapplicableposition:
1)Ifbothfueltanksaredefueledatthesametime,settheXFEEDVALVEpushbutton
toOPEN.
2)T odefueltheleftfueltank,settheXFEEDVALVEpushbuttontoOPEN.
3)T odefueltherightfueltank,pressouttheXFEEDVALVEpushbutton.
(h)SetthePUMPpushbuttonsontheoverheadFUELcontrolpanelofthecockpittorelated
positions:
1)Ifbothfueltanksaredefueledatthesametime,pressinthefourPUMPpushbuttons.
2)T odefueltheleftfueltank,pressintheLPUMP1andLPUMP2pushbuttons.
3)T odefueltherightfueltank,pressintheRPUMP1andRPUMP2pushbuttons.
(i)Whendefuelquantityreachestheexpectedvalue,orthefuelquantityreadoutonthere-
fuel/defuelcontrolpanelstopsdecreasing,ortheowindicatoronthedefuelequipment
showsastableow,thedefueloperationisconsideredtobecompleted.
(j)Ontherefuel/defuelcontrolpanel,settheDEFUELINGswitchtotheCLOSEDposition,
andclosetheprotectivecover.Makesurethatthedefuelshutoffvalveannunciatorisoff.
(k)Rotatethehandleattheendoftherefuelnozzletoclosetheshutoffvalve,anddisconnect
therefuelnozzlefromtherefuel/defueladapter.
(l)PressouttheXFEEDVALVEpushbuttonontheoverheadFUELcontrolpanelofthecock-
pit.
(m)PressoutthePUMPpushbuttonsofthepumpsusedfordefuelingontheoverheadFUEL
controlpanelofthecockpittoOFFposition.
(n)Installtherefuel/defueladaptercapontherefuel/defueladapter.Makesurethatthe
adapterandthecapareintact.
(o)Removeanyspilledfuelattherefueladapter,withadrycottonclothwipe.
