Preparing a VFC400-USB for first use VFC400-USB User Guide 21
Finalizing the configuration
Click Configure to upload the configuration data to the VFC400-USB.
When the configuration is complete, unplug the VFC400-USB from the USB socket and
replace the protective seal.
If you wish to configure more VFC400-USB units with the same configuration, insert the
next loggers into USB sockets, wait until they are ready for configuration and click
Repeat Configure.
You can upload the configuration to a VFC400-USB logger as often as required.
Adding the Probes and the Power Supply
Before the VFC400-USB can record temperature data you will need to connect an
external probe. The VFC400-USB accepts any ST100 probe (including an STX50
extension).
Remove the small round socket protector for the channel you wish to use. The battery
compartment is a good place to keep any spare protectors.
Plug the probe's connector into the socket located at the bottom of the device, as
shown.
For stationary applications we recommend you connect a
power supply (see Powering the VFC400-USB).
Remove the protective cap and insert the USB connector.
Note that the wider part of the connector is oriented towards
the rear of the product.
