DSM0400 features a cable auto-recognition procedure at startup:
• if a RS232 cable is used, the device will always boot in the RS232
interface configuration.
• If a USB cable is used the device will always boot in the preferred
USB interface configuration, as illustrated in the following paragraph
(default is USB-Composite interface).
Scan the appropriate bar code for your reader's interface type from
the following section.
• DSM049X models: connect either one of 90A052065 (USB) or
90A051230 (RS232) to the DSM049X RJ45 female connector. Then:
- If 90A052065 (USB) cable is used follow direction as per DSM042X models.
- If 90A051230 (RS232) cable is used follow direction as per DSM045X models.
To disconnect the cable, insert a
paper clip or similar object into
the opening shown, then gently
pull the cable.
