Removing a cooling fan
Prerequisites
1. Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions on page 43.
2. Follow the procedure listed in the Before working inside your system on page 44.
3. Remove the air shroud.
Steps
1. Disconnect the cooling fan cable from the system board connector.
2. Remove the cable from the cable retention tabs.
NOTE: Observe the routing of the cable as you remove it from the system.
3. Press the release tab, and lift the cooling fan from the cooling fan cage.

sequence.
