The test tone function is used to generate a test
signal
for
adjusting
the
level
of
each
channel
in
the Dolby Pro-logic surround mode.
Before
using
Dolby
Pro-logic
surround,
arrange
the
speakers
as
illustrated
above
and
follow
the
procedure
given
here.
Using
the
test
tone,
set
the
optimum
volume
balance
for
each
speaker
and
set
the
volume
and
other
controls
so
that
each
speaker
can
be
heard
at
the
same
level.
In the normal and wide modes the test tone is
provided as the speakers are switched in the
following order:
Poon left - Center — Front right > Beate

Use this signal to adjust the volume balance and
set an optimum balance.
In the phantom mode the test tone is provided as
the speakers are switched in the following order:
Front left > Front left and right — Front right al
Rear
In the 3-ch logic mode the test tone is provided as
the speakers are switched in the following order:
Eure left — Center — Front eae aee|
Note
that
this
amplifier
provides
the
test
tone
at
4-second
intervals
for
the
first
two
cycles
and
for
2-second
intervals
thereafter.
