Deus XP - Static Mode; Calibrating the Threshold

Place the coil at a height of approximately 5 cm above the ground
on a zone free of metal targets
Press (Pinpoint)
The sound threshold is calibrated and you are switched to static mode.
Calibration of the threshold can be repeated at any time by pressing
the Pinpoint button again. If you are continually searching in static
mode you will need to recalibrate this threshold at regular intervals.
The stability and sensitivity of the static mode will depend on how
eectively the detector has been calibrated:
If you recalibrate the threshold with the coil too far from the ground,
then sensitivity will be lower but the device will be more stable.
If you recalibrate the threshold with the coil too close to the ground,
then its sensitivity in static mode will be high but the device will be
unstable on the ground.
The ground mineralisation should help you determine the best height
for obtaining the desired level of sensitivity.

Dēus is designed to operate most of the time in dynamic mode, which
means that a metal target will only be detected if the detector’s coil is
moving. However, the detector can also be operated in static mode, if
required, which means that it will detect even if the coil is motionless
above a target.
In modern detectors, static mode is most often used to locate a target
more precisely (pinpointing).
However this mode is also very useful for detecting the presence of
metal in cramped locations, where there is not enough space to swing
the coil, or if there is too much interfering metal around the target.
For example, locating hiding places inside houses, cellars and walls.
Static mode is also widely used in the construction industry to locate
metal pipes, as it enables them to be continually tracked.
