Diamondback’sHeartRateprogramscanalsobedescribedasaheartratecontrolprograms.Heartratecontrolprogramsautomatically
increaseanddecreasetheloadorresistancelevelsduringtheworkouttohelpkeeptheuser’sheartratenearaselectedheartratetarget.
Forexample,iftheheartratetargetis132BPM,andtheuser’spulsebeginstofall,the910computerwillslowlyincreasetheresistancelevel.
Eventually,theamountofworkbeingperformedbytheuserwillincreaseandsowilltheheartrate.Conversely,iftheuser’sheartrateclimbs
abovethetargetedrange,theresistancewilldecrease,allowingtheus
er’sheartratetofall.
Theadvantagesofheartratecontrolprogramsarethesimplicityandaccuracybywhichtheidealcardio‐vasculartrainingzoneismaintained
therebyofferingaveryefficientworkout.
FortheTargetHeartRateprogramstooperate,thecomputermustreceiveaheartratesignalfromthetouchhea
rtratesensorsorawireless
heartratetransmitter.
Forthegreatestcardio‐vascularbenefit,mostpersonsshouldtargetaheartratethatisbetween60%and85%oftheircalculatedmaximum
heartrate.Anindividual’scalculatedmaximumheartrateisestimatedas220BPM,minustheirage.Itisun
safetoexceed90%ofthis
calculatedheartrate.
NOTE: ThecomputerbasesallheartratetargetsandmaximumsonthedataenteredduringtheUserSetupmodes.Foran
effectiveandsafeworkout,pleaseenterthecorrectdataforthecurrentuser.

Therearethreetypesofheartratecontrolprogramsembeddedinthe910console:HeartRateInterval,TargetHeartRateandPercentage
