Configuring the WAN Interface of the WR21
1. Click NNeettwwoorrkkss in the left-hand menu.
2. Navigate to the Ethernet settings by clicking (in the right-hand window) on IInntteerrffaacceess, then
EEtthheerrnneett.
The first Ethernet port listed, EETTHH 00, is the WAN port (labeled LAN 0 on the physical device).
3. Click on EETTHH 00 –– WWAANN PPoorrtt to edit the configuration.
EExxaammppllee: The following figure shows an IP address of 192.168.2.10, a subnet mask of
255.255.255.0 and a Gateway of 192.168.2.1.

4. Using the settings obtained from the Tracer BAS controller in previous steps, enter the IIPP
AAddddrreessss, MMaasskk, GGaatteewwaayy, and DDNNSS SSeerrvveerr in the appropriate boxes.
5. If the Tracer BAS controller was configured to obtain an IP address automatically using DHCP,
EETTHH 00 should instead be set to GGeett aann IIPP aaddddrreessss aauuttoommaattiiccaallllyy uussiinngg DDHHCCPP.
NNoottee:: ETH 0 and ETH 1 must have addresses on separate IP networks. The DIGI WR21 ships with
EETTHH 11 –– IInntteerrnnaall NNeettwwoorrkk configured to utilize the 192.168.209.0/24 (192.168.209.0-
192.168.209.255) subnet. If this range is already in use on the customer network, you will
need to follow the steps in the “Configuring the LAN Interface of the WR21” section below.
6. Click AAppppllyy.
7. Expand the AAddvvaanncceedd tab.
The second line should read: TThhee ddeevviiccee iiss ccuurrrreennttllyy iinn PPoorrtt IIssoollaattee mmooddee.
