Procedures
Check every 10 hours. Charge as needed.
Check
1. Disconnect battery at battery disconnect
switch, if equipped.
2. Ensure no ignition sources are near battery.
3. Loosen and remove battery cable clamps
carefully, negative (-) cable first.
4. Clean cable clamps and terminals to remove
dull glaze.
5. Check for signs of internal corrosion in cables.
6. Connect battery cable clamps, positive (+)
cable first.
7. Tighten any loose connections.
8. Ensure that battery tiedowns are secure.
9. Turn battery disconnect, if equipped, on.
NOTICE:
• Electronic components can be easily damaged by electrical surges. Jump starting can damage
electronics and electrical systems, and is not recommended. Try to charge the battery instead. Use
quality large diameter jumper cables capable of carrying high currents (400 amps or more). Low
quality cables may not allow enough current flow to charge a dead/discharged battery.
• Read all steps thoroughly and review illustration before performing procedure.
