PTT KEY
:
The Push-To-Talk (PTT) key determines the operating
mode of the transceiver.
When the PTT key is depressed, the transceiver will
operate in the transmit mode.
When the PTT key is released, the transceiver will
operate in the receive mode.

Side TEST KEY
:
a) Temporary squelch override, combined with
b) Manual activation of optical and acoustical battery
status signal:
3-dots tone = fully charged battery
2-dots tone = approx. 50% discharged battery
1-dot tone = almost discharged battery
continuous tone = Warning (during transmit only)
= battery empty, no TX possible anymore.

LOUDSPEAKER
:
Two 16-ohm/300-mWatt internal loudspeakers in
parallel, which are operative in the receive mode. The
internal speakers are disabled when
transceiver is operated in the transmit mode or
an external microphone (headset, helmet, etc.) is
connected to the accessory socket.

MICROPHONE
:
An Electret-type microphone which is operative in the
transmit mode.
The internal microphone is disabled when
the transceiver is operated in the receive mode, or
when an external microphone is plugged to the
accessory socket

BATTERY PACK
:
A rechargeable, detachable, high quality Ni-MH battery
pack, 12 Vdc/1,500 mAh. Water- and dustproof also
detached from radio. Protected by a 2 Amp self-
healing fuse and a temperature switch ( +84°C /
183°F). Chargeable through bottom contacts (mate
DITTEL drop-in charger, A/N F10167).
