PTT KEY
:
The Push-To-Talk (PTT) key determines the operating
mode of the transceiver.
• When the PTT key is depressed, the transceiver will
operate in the transmit mode.
• When the PTT key is released, the transceiver will
operate in the receive mode.

Side TEST KEY
:
a) Temporary squelch override, combined with
b) Manual activation of optical and acoustical battery
status signal:
3-dots tone = fully charged battery
2-dots tone = approx. 50% discharged battery
1-dot tone = almost discharged battery
continuous tone = Warning (during transmit only)
= battery empty, no TX possible anymore.

LOUDSPEAKER
:
Two 16-ohm/300-mWatt internal loudspeakers in
parallel, which are operative in the receive mode. The
internal speakers are disabled when
• transceiver is operated in the transmit mode or
• an external microphone (headset, helmet, etc.) is
connected to the accessory socket.

MICROPHONE
:
An Electret-type microphone which is operative in the
transmit mode.
The internal microphone is disabled when
• the transceiver is operated in the receive mode, or
• when an external microphone is plugged to the
accessory socket

• when the PTT key of a speaker/microphone is
pressed

BATTERY PACK
:
A rechargeable, detachable, high quality Ni-MH battery
pack, 12 Vdc/1,500 mAh. Water- and dustproof also
detached from radio. Protected by a 2 Amp self-
healing fuse and a temperature switch (≥ +84°C / ≥
183°F). Chargeable through bottom contacts (mate
DITTEL drop-in charger, A/N F10167).
