4.3 Preparation for Use
IMPORTANT!
This instruction is only applicable for a transceiver FSG 7016, which
is already pre-programmed.
For programming refer to Section 3, Programming.
To prepare the transceiver for use:
Verify the antenna connection of the helical antenna, or the plug of an external
antenna, is tightened.
When using a helical antenna, hold radio and antenna vertically as high as
possible. Keep antenna radiator tip away from operator's face, head or body, if
the radio front (speaker and microphone) is held close to the mouth. Besides
reduced RF radiation to the human body, a very good antenna radiating
efficiency is also obtained for long radio communications distance.
When using the FSG 7016 in buildings, vehicles or aircraft, the radio should
always be operated on a suitable external - DC grounded - antenna. Assure
appropriate lightning protection where elevated outdoor antennas are used.
Check proper seat of the battery pack. Ensure snap-on CLICK.
Set the 'VOL' Control

Set the OFF-ON-SQ OFF-VOX knob
1

Set the 'CH' Switch
5
