INSTALLATION
20509 Issue 7 Jan 2018 A-11
PREPARING THE INK SYSTEM
Connect the float valve and ink container (see instructions supplied with
printer)
If Macrojet 2 is supplied filled with ink (as normal) it is only necessary to:
(1) Bleed the ink system (see the User's Pocket Book).
(2) Purge the print head (see the User's Pocket Book).
However, if ink is not present in the ink system:
(1) Prime the ink system (see page 4-17).
(2) Bleed the print head (see page 4-8).
It is essential that all traces of air are removed from the ink system.
Connecting the Ink Supply Container
Note: Ensure that the ink in the new container is the correct type.
Ink is supplied in a disposable container consisting of a soft 5-litre bag in a
strong protective box. The ink supply pipe from the printer terminates in a
quick connect/disconnect (QCD) connector which is fitted onto a special
nozzle on the container.
(1) Press in the perforated access flap on the ink box. Tear off the cover
along the perforated limes.
(2) Place the ink box with the bag nozzle on top.
(3) Pull back the locking ring round the open end of the QCD connector.
(4) Push the QCD connector onto the bag nozzle and release the locking
ring. Check that the QCD is pushed fully home.
(5) Reposition the ink container so that the QCD is on the side of the
container near the bottom.
(6) At the printer cabinet, set the pump switch to On (1). The printer is
now ready for use.
