9.5 Room thermostat connection
The boiler has two terminals on terminal strip J5 for connecting a room thermostat or room timer
(see Electrical Connection Diagram). This allows the heating mode to switch off according to the
room temperature. To connect it, remove the bridge from terminal strip J5 and connect the room
thermostat in the same place.
Installing a room thermostat will optimise the functioning of the installation, adapting the heating
to the requirements of your home and obtaining enhanced comfort. Also, if the thermostat allows
the hours of functioning to be programmed (room timer), it will be able to adapt the heating
system to the hours during which the installation is in use.
9.6 Anti-legionnaire’s disease function (optional) (with storage heater only)
This optional function prevents the bacteria causing legionnaire’s disease from proliferating in the
hot water accumulated in the storage heater. Every 7 days, the temperature of the water in the
storage heater is raised to 70 ºC to kill any such bacteria. This function will only be activated when
the boiler is functioning, with the master switch turned to “I”.
The boiler is supplied with this function deactivated. To enable the function, read the section
"Installation Instructions" carefully. We recommend that the operation for enabling this function is
carried out by qualified personnel.
10 E20 REMOTE CONTROL (OPTIONAL)
Together with the Evolution EV AC boiler, a remote control (E20) can optionally be supplied. This
remote control can be used to fully operate the boiler from any location within the home.
The remote control enables the hours of home comfort to be programmed, adjusting the installation
to the particular requirements of the home by measuring the room temperature and consequently
adapting the installation temperature. The remote control can also be used to adjust the hot water
and heating set point temperatures (storage heater option) at any time, and for viewing the different
boiler operation parameters. It also warns of any functioning anomalies affecting the boiler.
The E20 remote control may optionally be connected to an external sensor, for measuring the outside
temperature. With this option installed, the remote control can adjust the home comfort level
depending on the weather conditions at each particular moment, optimising fuel consumption and
the heating inside the home.
When an E20 remote control is connected to the boiler, the control of the boiler is performed
exclusively by the remote control. The different boiler temperatures that can be selected will need to
be changed using the remote control. It is easy to install, only needing 2 wires for communication
between the boiler and the E20 control. It is connected to the boiler by connecting the two wires on
terminal strip J4 (see Connection Diagram). For correct installation and functioning, carefully read the
instructions enclosed with the remote control.
The following sections contain a general explanation of the different operating modes and options of
the E20 remote control.
