Operation
7.2 Starting the therapy
The therapy can be started either from a quick start into the Manual / Spontaneous
mode or from a normal start with customized settings.
Prerequisite: The device is in Standby mode.
Quick start
Electronically controlled gas mixer:
The fresh-gas settings (3) are displayed.
► Touch the Quick start Man/Spon button (1).
Mechanically controlled gas mixer:
► Open the flow control valves. The device switches automatically to the
Manual / Spontaneous mode. Take care that the quick start does not happen
unintentionally.
Or:
► Touch the Quick start Man/Spon button (1) and open the flow control valves.
Normal start with customized settings
1. Optionally perform one of the following steps:
► Touch the Start... button (2).
► Touch the screen in the monitoring area (4).
► Squeeze the breathing bag.
2. Adjust the patient data and ventilation settings.
Starting when time is limited
When time is limited, it is possible to bypass the adjustment of the patient data and
the ventilation settings. Start the therapy as follows:
1. Touch the screen.
2. Check the displayed start values.
3. Press the rotary knob. The therapy starts.
