SECTION 17 MOUNTED EQUIPMENT
Page 24
TD-25M EXTRA DRESSTA
SINGLE SHANK RIPPER
WARNING! Before working at the machine, be sure that the blade and ripper
have been lowered to the ground, engine is OFF, the drive train neutral lock lever
is in locked (ON) position and parking brake is set. The starting switch and the
electrical system master switch are turned OFF, keys are removed and the
controls are tagged to prevent inadvertent engine starting.
WARNING! Due to the considerable weight and bulk of each bulldozer
component, a suitable hoist or lifting device MUST be used. Remove each
component separately using suitable blocking on the remaining components.
IMPORTANT: Disconnected hydraulic lines must be capped with the correct size plastic cap.
If caps are not available, use tape or rubber stoppers. Openings must never be plugged with rags.
This practice could introduce dirt or lint into critical hydraulic components. Tag all disconnected
lines to facilitate proper installation.
1. Position suitable blocking under draft frame (9) and tool beam (17). Remove pitch cylinders
(6), refer to SECTION 10C. Reinstall mounting pins (2 and 13) in mounting frame (1 and 4)
and tool beam (17).
2. Remove ripper lift cylinders (7), refer to SECTION 10C. Reinstall mounting pins (2 and 11) in
mounting frame (1 and 4) and draft frame (9).
3. Attach hoist to cylinder mounting pins (13) at tool beam (17) and take out slack in hoist.
Remove draft frame pins (16) and lift tool beam (17) from ripper. If necessary, remove shank
(18 or 19) from tool beam (17).
4. Attach hoist to draft frame (9) and take out slack in hoist. Remove draft frame pins (5) and lift
draft frame (9) from ripper.
5. Attach hoist to cylinder mounting pins (2) at left mounting frame (1) and take out slack in hoist.
Remove mounting hardware and lift left frame from machine.
6. Attach hoist to cylinder mounting pins (2) at right mounting frame (4) and take out slack in
hoist. Remove mounting hardware and lift right frame from machine.
19. DRAFT FRAME (Refer to Fig. 17.15)
1. Position draft frame assembly (9) on a stand. Using a hydraulic press, remove the old draft
frame bushings (8) from draft frame (9).
2. Place new bushing (8) in draft frame (9). Using the hydraulic press, press bushing (8) into draft
frame (9). Repeat for other bushings (8). Coat inner surfaces of bushings (8) with fresh grease.
Remove draft frame (9) from the stand.
20. TOOL BEAM (Refer to Fig. 17.15)
1. Position tool beam assembly (17) on a stand. Using a hydraulic press, remove the old ripper
shank pin bushings (15) from tool beam (17).
2. Place new bushing (15) in tool beam (9). Using the hydraulic press, press bushing (15) into
tool beam (17). Repeat for other bushing (15). Coat inner surfaces of bushings (15) with fresh
grease. Remove tool beam (17) from the stand.
