Rear shock absorber adjusters (fig. 31)
The rear shock absorber is equipped with an adjuster (1),
located on the right side, on the lower connection
holding the shock absorber to the swingarm: this
adjuster controls rebound damping.
Turn the adjuster (1) clockwise to increase damping,
or counter-clockwise to reduce damping.
STANDARD setting of adjuster (1):
turn the adjuster all the way in (clockwise), then slacken
by 2 turns.
By means of the two ring nuts, one for fastening (2) and
one for adjustment (3), it is possible to adjust the external
spring preload of the shock absorber by following the
instructions below: slacken the fastening ring nut (2) and
turn the adjuster ring nut (1) until the desired position is
reached. Tighten the fastening ring nut (2).
These operations serve to adjust chassis attitude to suit
load conditions.
The shock absorber is filled with gas under
pressure and may cause severe damage if taken apart
by unskilled persons.
