Pre-ride checks
Failure to carry out these checks before riding,
may lead to motorcycle damage and injury to rider
and passenger.
Before riding, a thorough check-up on your
motorcycle as follows:

FUEL LEVEL IN THE TANK
Check the fuel level in the tank. Refuel if
necessary (see “Refuelling”).
●
ENGINE OIL LEVEL
Check the level in the sump through the sight
glass; top-up if necessary (see “Checking the
engine oil level”).
●
BRAKE AND CLUTCH FLUID
Check liquid level in the corresponding
reservoirs (see "Checking brake and clutch fluid
level").
●
COOLANT
Check the level of coolant in the expansion
reservoir; top up if necessary (see "Checking and
topping up the coolant level").
●
TYRE CONDITION
Check tyre pressure and condition (see
“Tubeless tyres”).
●
CONTROLS
Work the brake, clutch, and gear change
controls (levers, pedals and twistgrip) and check
for proper operation.
●
LIGHTS AND INDICATORS
Make sure lights, indicators and warning horn
work properly. Replace any burnt-out bulbs (see
“Replacing headlight light bulbs”).
●
KEY LOCKS
Check the tightening of the filler plug (see “Filler
plug”).
●
STAND
Make sure side stand operates smoothly and is
in the correct position (see “Side stand”).
In case of malfunction, do not ride the
motorcycle and contact a Ducati Dealer or
authorised Service Centre.
To ensure trouble-free operation, the engine coolant
pump requires a breather. This means that it is
possible that a very small quantity of coolant oozes
out of the breather hole positioned in the upper
