9.1 Scaler handpiece
Overview
The Vector Scaler handpiece is suitable for the
efficient removal of dental calculus and of con-
crement.
The cooling channel runs to a point just before
the instrument tip. This offers the following
advantages:
– Less water used, therefore less aerosol forma-
tion.
– Less contamination.
– Better clarity.
– Easier aspiration.
– Better cooling, as the fluid flows directly over
the working tip.
During treatment using the Scaler handpiece,
fluid is applied as a constant stream.

The power is adjusted in the POWER operating
panel.
The Vector Scaler handpiece enables optimum
adjustment of the ultrasonic power according to
the medical indication in conjunction with the cor-
responding instrument.
The power can be adjusted between 5 settings
on the Scaler handpiece, "POWER".
Operating frequency:
The operating frequency of the Scaler handpiece
is in the range between 27–32 kHz (20–120 µm)

be selected from 3 settings:
