1. General use
The CPA 2000 electro acoustics compact system has been specially designed to ensure durable
performance and reliable operation of sound reinforcement systems. It is best suited for call and message
transmission installations with or without background music, alert systems in industrial enterprises, offices,
congregation halls and sports centers, schools, churches, hotels, hospitals, super markets, cruise ships,
and other similar occasions.
2. Installation notes
Make sure that the ventilation louvres of the appliance are not blocked. For operation the CPA 2000 can
be placed on a desk or mounted within a 19" rack shelf system.
It is necessary to prevent the device from:
• dropping or splashing water
• direct sunlight
• high environmental temperatures or direct radiation of heat sources
• moisture
• dust
• shock or vibration
When moving the CPA 2000 from a cold into a warm environment, condensation of its inner parts can
sometimes occur. If so, the appliance can be operated again after gaining the environmental temperature
(approximately after one hour).
If a solid object has fallen or liquid has leaked into the device, disconnect all connections and contact an
authorized DYNACORD service center for the necessary maintenance. Do not operate the CPA 2000
after such accidents have happened.
When cleaning the amplifier’s outside enclosure, never use any cleaning sprays or detergents, because
of inflamability. The use of those liquids will damage the appliance.
Make sure that the installation of the CPA 2000 is in accordance with all requirements specified in the
EN60065 and the VDE 0100 regulations. All connectors have to be free of tensile stress.
Using the appliance without its enclosure is not permissible.
When incorporating the CPA 2000 into a 19" rack shelf system, please make sure that a sufficient air-flow
is provided. Between the compact system’s rear plate and the back-wall of the rack system there has to
be at least a space of 60 mm x 330 mm up to the shelf’s ventilation gaps. Besides, it is necessary to
provide at least a space of 100 mm for a sufficient air-circulation above the rack shelf system. During the
operation of the CPA 2000 the environmental temperature within a closed rack shelf may increase by
about 10° C. For this fact it is necessary to verify that the temperature does not exceed the maximum
permissible environmental temperature of other parts of equipment within the same rack shelf.
For trouble-free operation of the appliance, the maximum environmental temperature should not exceed
+40° C.
3. First operation
When the appliance is operated with the mains supply, use the included mains cable to connect the
amplifier to a correctly installed 230 V or 115 V 50/60 Hz wall outlet. Connect the cable’s other end to the
appliance’s 3-pole machine-type socket (AC MAINS INPUT, [62]).
Caution!
The amplifier is factory-set to 230 V AC. To change this setting use the VOLTAGE SELECTOR [61]. For
the operation with 115 V AC, the mains fuse [60] has to be exchanged by an 6.25 Ampère slow-blow fuse.
When turning the power of the CPA 2000 on, using the POWER [26] switch on the front panel, make sure
that the master volume control (MASTER, [6]), the input controls (MIC 1 - MIC 3, [1] to [3]), and the
line-level input control (VOLUME, [4]) are set to their “0"-position. Otherwise, when sound sources are
already playing during the power-on operation, the resulting high output levels could lead to severe
damages of your speaker systems.
The CPA 2000 is equipped with a cut-in delay of approximately 5 seconds to efficiently suppress power-on
noise.
