7.1 Switch on/off the Tilt Compensator of the Vertical Angle
The compensator normally remains switched on.
If the instrument is used on an unstable base (e.g. shaking platform, ship, etc.) the compensator
must be switched off, which can avoid the compensator drifting out of the measuring range and
interrupting the measuring process by indicating an error.
The working range of the compensator is at ±3' (±0.05.56 gon). If the tilt angle exceeds the work
range, the vertical angle will show TILT on the display.
To switch on/off the tilt compensator of the vertical angle, do the following:
1. Press → R/L to enter configuration mode:
2. Press 0SET to turn to the following page:
3. Do one of the following:
o To switch on the compensator, press R/L to change the value to ON. Character CRN
shows on the left lower of the display.
o To switch off the compensator, press R/L to change the value to OFF.
