Problem  Possible Cause  Required Action 
 
High system output voltage.  Temperature Compensation is 
active and the battery 
temperature is below the 
reference temperature. 
None. This is normal operation (if 
batteries are connected). Disable 
Temperature Compensation if no 
batteries connected. 
Equalise or Fast Charge is 
active. 
None. Output voltage will return to 
normal when Equalise or Fast Charge is 
completed. 
Incorrect float voltage setting in 
EFX48. 
Correct the float voltage setting of the  
EFX48. 
Record new setting. 
Faulty rectifier.  Locate the rectifier with the highest 
output current and remove this one first. 
If this rectifier is not faulty then replace 
and remove the other one instead. (The 
output voltage returns to normal when 
faulty rectifier is removed.) 
Replace faulty rectifier with one that is 
working. 
Return the faulty rectifier for service. 
EFX48 red alarm LED on   The EFX48 has reported an 
alarm condition for one of the 
alarms enabled in its 
configuration 
Use the navigation switch and go to

to check which alarms are active. For

EFX48 alarm sounding   The EFX48 has reported an

fast (4Hz) 
The string has tripped due to an 
over current condition 
Turn the string off and on again – it may 
go into the pending state (LED flashing at 
1Hz) before turning back on 
EFX48 load output LED 
flashing slowly (1Hz) 
The load output is commanded 
to turn on but the EFX48 has 
determined that the operating 
conditions are not correct and is 
taking action to connect the load 
None – wait for load to connect 
EFX48 load output LED 
flashing fast (4Hz) 
The load has tripped due to an

Turn the load off and on again – it may
