other fingers on the non-dominate hand may be used.
The big toe or long toe (next to the big toe) may be used on restrained patients or patients
whose hands are unavailable.
Place the finger into the sensor according to the direction of the symbol on the sensor. Adjust
the finger to ensure that the pad of the finger completely covers the sensor detection window.
Orient the sensor so that the cable will be running towards the top of the patient’s hand.
Connect the sensor with the monitor (or with the extension cable if needed).
Applying Neonatal Finger (or Toe) Wrap Sensors:
When you perform the measurement, position the sensor over the hand or foot with optical
components opposite each other.
Hold the sensor, and insert stretched strap into slot, hold it there while threading end through
latch. If strap is too long, thread it through second latch.
Connect the sensor with the monitor (or with the extension cable if needed).
Applying Adult/Pediatric Ear Clip Sensor:
When you perform the measurement, clip the plastic fixing part on top of the ear; reinforce it to
prevent falling off or getting loose.
Clip the probe onto fleshy part of the lobe with optical components opposite to each other.
Connect the sensor with the monitor (or with the extension cable if needed).

Plug the connector of the sensor extension cable into the SpO

socket.
