5.3 J3 & J11 Connectors Bathymetric Receivers
These connectors are unused and sealed with blanking plugs for all non-bathymetric Tri-Frequency
systems. The blanking plug is made of the same material as the pressure housing and meet or exceed the
required depth rating.
5.4 J4, J6, J8 & J10 Sub-Bottom Transducer
The four sub-bottom transmit transducers are individually connected to these four bulkheads (drawing
0017753) via four independent extension cables (drawing 0009855). All four connectors are identical and
can be connected to any of the four sub-bottom transducers. Each transducer is driven from its own 200-
watt amplifier.
5.5 J5 & J9 Connectors Side Scan Transducers
The pin outs and connections for the side scan arrays are provided in drawing 0019609. The two side scan
arrays are externally connected to J5 (Starboard) and J9 (Port) of the end cap.
5.6 J10 Sub-Bottom PVDF Receiver
The sub-bottom PVDF receiver is connected to J10 (drawing 0012112) via an extension cable (0015756).
This is a shielded cable but care should be taken to route the cable away from any EMI sources. An
optional extension cable (0015756) is provided with the separately purchased ROV Mounting Kit
(0022261).
5.7 Trigger
The 2300 systems default trigger is produced by injecting a TTL signal into the Starmux IV topside
(FSK Input) and demodulating this signal with the 2300 Multiplexer. This signal is primarily included to
trigger an underwater tracking beacon (connected to the 2300 Multiplexer). An optional set of Digital I/O
triggers are available but require additional hardware to be installed in the system. If the Digital I/O
triggers are utilized, the following section explains the SONAR interface commands. Alternatively,
without the Digital I/O interface, the 2205 can be used to generate Triggers A & C to pass to the 2300
multiplexer. These triggers are not synchronized to the FSK trigger and are hosted with the 2205 as the
Trigger Master.
Starting with SONAR 78.55, the former TRIGGERMASK command has been replaced with
trigger commands "TriggerOutputLines" and "TriggerInputLine". The variables for Trigger Outputs are:
'-1' for none, '0' for trigger A, '1' for trigger B and '2' for trigger C. The variables for Trigger Inputs are:
